Self Portrait
For DrawerGeeks this Friday. We have to draw a 'Grrr Face' so I decided to try mine as a self portrait. I only had a small mirror to my left while painting this, and I think I strained all the muscles in my face making this expression each time I had to refer back to it.

cool work marcos! benja!
Nice! I really like how this is shaping up.
Thank you for commenting on my blog! That's a cool pose for a self portrait - although it definately looks painful. I'm trying to get a self portrait done - I think this just might inspire me to make a face into the mirror and see if it works! Cool blog! :D
I think this one looks much better than that on your profile!
Good work!
Wow Marco this is cool! Great lighting here!
Thkx Marco, i like ike a lot the transition between the neck and the background on this one.

Great portrait, but I bet it hurt after awhile pulling that expression.
very cool. lot's of great brushstrokes to compliment that expression. like the mustard-y colour too.
nice one Marco,..face muscle details and color tones are great
Wow! Marco your work really rocks. Great caricatures, character studies and memory sketches (love the memory sketch). You've even managed to make a dud like Captain Marvel look interesting.
Your rendering skills are amazing.
Thanks also for the kind comment you posted on my blog, i appreciate it.
Keep on rockin' in the free world!

Nice job on this! You really captured the energy of the expression.
Heh, nice portrait. I can imagine that would have been uncomfortable. I remember how painful the portrait I drew while studying the Platysma muscle was.
Again, with the crazy expression, nice work.
GREAT!! GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT !! GREATTTTTTT!! love the way you work!!!
so are you saying that one side of your face is much stronger than the other since you had to do this pic? i would suggest doing it with the mirror on the other side soon, just so you're not all lop-sided and what not :)
awesome expression and excellent self portrait! ;)
nice dude
