Self Portrait

For DrawerGeeks this Friday. We have to draw a 'Grrr Face' so I decided to try mine as a self portrait. I only had a small mirror to my left while painting this, and I think I strained all the muscles in my face making this expression each time I had to refer back to it.

Thank you for commenting on my blog! That's a cool pose for a self portrait - although it definately looks painful. I'm trying to get a self portrait done - I think this just might inspire me to make a face into the mirror and see if it works! Cool blog! :D

Wow! Marco your work really rocks. Great caricatures, character studies and memory sketches (love the memory sketch). You've even managed to make a dud like Captain Marvel look interesting.
Your rendering skills are amazing.

Thanks also for the kind comment you posted on my blog, i appreciate it.

Keep on rockin' in the free world!

Heh, nice portrait. I can imagine that would have been uncomfortable. I remember how painful the portrait I drew while studying the Platysma muscle was.

so are you saying that one side of your face is much stronger than the other since you had to do this pic? i would suggest doing it with the mirror on the other side soon, just so you're not all lop-sided and what not :)

awesome expression and excellent self portrait! ;)
