Moonlight

Getting into the October spirit with this little sketch. Based on a lighting condition I saw on the way home from a late night at work...took a few moments and made some live mental notes, then tried to pull it out of my head when I got home.

Awh, that's *perfect*. I've seen nights like those, but never managed to capture it. Great work-- I love all the sketches and working notes that you've posted! Thanks. :)

Hey marco. Love the feel of this one. I always wanted to capture that moonlight feeling.

Thanks so much for the comments as well. They really helped. I completely agree with you too. I always find that I tend to "simplify" too much all the time, but then I guess there's that line between too simple and too complicated. I'll keep trying and thanks again. Hello! Many thanks for your visit!Oh my! your work is fantastic! I love the paintings, the portraits you do are so nice! they remind me of Singer Sargent.. The life colour sketches are beautiful and powerful. Neither can I believe you did this last post from the mental notes in your head: awesome!

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog and commenting--I really appreciate it.

The muted palette really works well in this image; it's calm, but eerie at the same time!
