Traditional Studies
I love digital painting. But I'm a firm believer in getting out there doing life sketches with traditional media. It feels like going to the gym or something. I also find it the most difficult, and I often fail even on the best of days. These are a few paintings which I think have a small grain of potential. They're all oils, except for the three small gouache sketches on the bottom left. Guys like Nathan Fowkes are pure inspiration for this kind of stuff.

I like your entry here ....for those who have read my book I believe polishing the fundamentals, working on your location sketches, and drawing the figure and animals from life is like weightlifting for a football player..you will not get paid for it. but its gotta be done to stay in the game....
