DrawerGeeks: Alien

This was one of those paintings where you throw down a random mess in photoshop and sort of let the thing paint itself. Although I think I could (should) have intervened and tried to be a little more creative with it...

Caveman Colour Key

Sorry for the lack of updates around here folks. I've recently had the drive to turn some of my digital paintings into larger oil paintings. I'm spending a few days on each one, and they're leaving little time for much else! I'm currently working on an oil painting of my caveman sketch, which some of you may remember from this post. I loaded it up in photoshop and did a VERY quick and dirty key, just so I have something to refer to as I do the large (16x20") oil.

Traditional Studies

I love digital painting. But I'm a firm believer in getting out there doing life sketches with traditional media. It feels like going to the gym or something. I also find it the most difficult, and I often fail even on the best of days. These are a few paintings which I think have a small grain of potential. They're all oils, except for the three small gouache sketches on the bottom left. Guys like Nathan Fowkes are pure inspiration for this kind of stuff.
