Mountainscapes

The thumbnails at the top were done as excersizes for shape, space, and light. For some reason, I felt the urge to take the first one and turn it into a full out matte painting. The thumbnail took about a half hour, and the matte painting took like 4 days. Have to get these out of my system every now and then.

Awesome work Marco! The painting and the thumbnails look great.

Some of the snowy areas in the focal mountain look a little repetitive and also kinda look like hair blowing in the wind. Other than that I can't wait to see a finished piece.

Thanks for the observation Matthew. You're right - the shadow area of the main mountain looks a little better designed in the thumbnail. I think it'll be worth revisiting that area of the painting. Somehow I didn't even see it. Good eye!
