Playing With Acrylic

Been playing around with acrylics lately, and having fun! Makes me want to stab my eyes out when the paint skins over on the palette though. I only have the patience with it to do small sketches like these. They're hit-and-miss, I know...still figuring this stuff out.

These are looking great, even if they're just sketches.

I've always preferred acrylic over oils because waiting even 15 minutes for something to dry was too long.

These are great Marco, I especially like the large nosed gent at top left. Each has a wonderful sense of whimsy.

You need to get a sta-wet palette. the acrylic stays wet for weeks on end. Also try the new Golden Open. It stays wet for hours on a plan oil palette. Your nude figure looks great as well as your portrait studies.

Hey David, good tip, thanks!
I actually HAVE one of those Sta-Wet palettes lying around somewhere! I'll try to dig it out. Thanks for reminding me about it.

Still very fun stuff!
BTW, those Atelier Interactives don't skin over. Well, they do, but as long as it's under a few hours, just hit it with a mist of water and it's wet again.

These are great fun Marco!

I use the stay wet palette all the time, also give the palette a regular light spray during long sessions.

I think these are great, Marco.
I also use a retarder to keep my paints wet- and I keep them in tupper-wear containers, but I guess the sta-wet palette works just as well.
