The thumbnails at the top were done as excersizes for shape, space, and light. For some reason, I felt the urge to take the first one and turn it into a full out matte painting. The thumbnail took about a half hour, and the matte painting took like 4 days. Have to get these out of my system every now and then.
hey buddy! really dig the stuff, what you have here! I love your traditional paintings, but the mattes also nice!
ReplyDeleteI will keep checking back! ;-)
Oh my god!! Im really really amused! wow :)
ReplyDeleteGlorious!
ReplyDeleteMatte painter Marco!! Beautiful work my friend!
ReplyDeleteAwesome work Marco! The painting and the thumbnails look great.
ReplyDeleteSome of the snowy areas in the focal mountain look a little repetitive and also kinda look like hair blowing in the wind. Other than that I can't wait to see a finished piece.
Thanks for the observation Matthew. You're right - the shadow area of the main mountain looks a little better designed in the thumbnail. I think it'll be worth revisiting that area of the painting. Somehow I didn't even see it. Good eye!
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant!!
ReplyDeleteyour lighting is incredible! amazing piece!
